McCann School of Business & Technology Hosts Annual McCann Madness Career Exploration Event

Pottsville, PA (3/2/2017) – McCann School of Business and Technology, Pottsville Campus will be hosting the 11th Annual McCann Madness Event for high school juniors and seniors on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 9:00 A.M.-1:30 P.M.  Over 180 students from Gillingham, Mahanoy Area, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Schuylkill Technology Center, Tri-Valley and Williams Valley will be attending. This annual career exploration event provides hands-on exposure to career paths in Business, Criminal Justice, Technology, Professional Massage Therapy, HVAC/R, Electrical Systems, Phlebotomist and Allied Health to high school students.

The event includes a trivia event that will educate attendees about different occupations.   According to Campus Director Shannon Brennan, “This year’s event will incorporate more hands-on options for students with the addition of a Phlebotomist and an Electrical Systems workshop and will also be the largest Madness Event McCann ever hosted, with over 160 registered high school students scheduled to attend.”

Teams of students must complete program specific tasks while competing for a trophy.  Schuylkill Technology Center was last year’s winner. A Team Spirit Award will also be awarded.

According to McCann Community Liaison, Lori Kane, “This event helps students get a glimpse of what it would be like to work in various career fields by letting them roll up their sleeves and try the work. It is especially helpful for students who may not know what field they want to pursue after graduation.”

The campus is located at 2650 Woodglen, Pottsville, PA 17901.  For more details about the event please contact Lori Kane (570) 622-7622 or
