McCann School of Business & Technology Hosts Free Welding Workshop

Maplewood Drive, Hazle Township, is hosting a free welding workshop on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“McCann’s welding workshops give participants a brief training session to get a good feel for the basic parts of welding,” said Mike Mazalusky, Director of Admissions for McCann School of Business & Technology. “Most people wouldn’t get exposure to this type of field, so the workshop teaches them a new skill and hopefully sparks an interest for those looking for a new career path.”

Joe Chicalese, Trades Program Director for McCann School of Business & Technology, will run the free welding workshop, which will feature MIG, TIG and stick oxy-fuel welding.

Participants should wear long sleeve shirts, long pants and closed shoes or boots. Participants may also be required to sign a waiver of liability.

The workshop will run for four consecutive weeks, continuing:

  • Friday, February 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Friday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Friday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The workshop is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is necessary.
