McCann School of Business & Technology Offers EMT Certification Course

Hazleton, Pa. (January 8, 2016) – The McCann School of Business & Technology Hazleton campus now offers an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification course, preparing students to take the cognitive and psychomotor sections of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NRRMT) certification test. Students must be certified EMTs to enroll in McCann’s Paramedic program.

“Implementing an EMT certification course at McCann will help our students simplify their learning experience by completing all the necessary state certifications and requirements in one location,” said Margaret Austin, Director of the Paramedic Program at McCann School of Business & Technology.

McCann’s first EMT certification course operating under the nation’s most recent registry system of rules and requirements began October 2015 and concluded December 2015. McCann will offer an EMT certification course four times a year.

McCann’s EMT certification course prepares students to assist patients with medical, behavioral and traumatic emergencies.

McCann’s Paramedic program provides students with additional knowledge and skills in advanced procedures in areas such as trauma, cardiology, pharmacology, neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics and more. The programs curriculum adheres to the National Standard curriculum and upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take the cognitive and psychomotor National Registry Exam for Paramedics.

Both the EMT certification course and Paramedic program consist of lectures, on campus skill labs and off-site clinical requirements.
